Terms and Conditions – Door Step Delivery of Jio SIMs

  • This Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy of this Application/weblink, is collectively a binding agreement between Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL/Jio) and the User/customer, who accesses or avails the Application/weblink (defined below) including the door step delivery of Jio SIM.
  • This Terms and Conditions are an electronic record in terms of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (as amended / re-enacted) (“IT Act”) and rules thereunder, and is published in accordance with the provisions of Rule 3 (1) of the of the Information Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines) Rules, 2011, which mandates for publishing of rules and regulations, privacy policy and terms of use for access or usage of Application i.e. MyJio App / www.jio.com (“Application/App/weblink”). This electronic record is generated by a computer system and does not require any physical or digital signatures.
  • BY DOWNLOADING OR OTHERWISE HAVING ACCESS TO, RECEIVING, AND/OR USING THE DSD SERVICES (AS MENTIONED HEREINAFTER), YOU HEREBY CONFIRM TO HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD AND AGREE TO BE GOVERNED AND BOUND BY THIS AGREEMENT WHICH IS INCORPORATED BY REFERANCE AND ANY OTHER RULES OR GUIDELINES, AS MAY BE ISSUED BY RJIL WITH RESPECT TO THE APPLICATION, FROM TIME TO TIME. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS AGREEMENT, PLEASE DO NOT USE THE APPLICATION/WEBLINK.


  • RJIL reserves the right to modify the Terms and conditions at any time at its sole discretion, with or without any prior notice to you. It is your responsibility to review these terms and conditions from time to time. You will be deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions, as amended, if you continue to access the Application/weblink after the terms and conditions are modified. Discontinuing use of this Application/weblink will not affect the applicability of the terms and conditions to your prior uses of the Application/weblink.
  • RJIL has been granted a license by Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, which has been issued under section 4(1) of the Indian Telegraph act 1885 and consequently RJIL licensed to install and operate and provide the telecommunication services to User/customers.
  • Door Step delivery (‘DSD’) of Jio Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) is exclusively offered by Jio's distributors, for select area / customers. In this regard kindly refer to the list of areas available on the MyJio App (through Wireless Application Protocol Link) /web-link under the header “Area”/”Pin Code”. Presently the DSD services is provided for free by Jio/distributor (as defined herein below). However, if DSD services are to be charged at a later date, the same shall be stated on the Application/weblink and customer shall at that time be liable to pay for the DSD services as per the rates mentioned therein along with applicable taxes, for which appropriate receipt shall be issued to the customer on such payment.
  • DSD of Jio SIMs is starting with select areas for select customers and gradually may be extended to other cities/locations in India, and is subject to change, at the sole discretion of Jio. In case the delivery area is not serviced or visible on App/web-link, then DSD service facility cannot be placed by the customer.
  • DSD operations will be executed entirely by Jio’s distributor (hereinafter referred to as “Distributor”), and you agree that Jio can share your details with distributor for providing the DSD services to you/customer. DSD is specially designed for:
    • Customers who generate offer code on MyJio App and get the ‘Deliver at Home’ button option which is currently activated for select handset models only;
    • Customers who enter their IMEI no. in Jio.com and get a prompt for DSD;
    • Customers who directly get an SMS for home delivery option (these are customer who have generated the activation code though MyJio App, but have not consumed the said activation code).
    • Customer may note that as they have provided Jio/distributor the information voluntarily, Jio/distributor shall maintain complete confidentiality of the information shared, and Jio/distributor shall use the same only in relation to the DSD services and/or Jio SIM activation completion process. The customer agrees to provide all assistance to distributor including the rider to complete the electronic-know your customer process including filling Customer Application Form (CAF) of RJIL for ensuring Jio SIM activation and in this regard the customer also agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of the CAF, in addition to these terms and conditions. Customer agrees that RJIL may at its sole discretion retain the customer content for the limited purpose of allowing the same to be shared with law enforcement agencies or for provision of DSD services to customer.
  • Customer shall not host, upload, display, publish, transmit, up-date or share any information that on the Application / weblink—
    • belongs to another person and to which the user does not have any right to;
    • is grossly harmful, harassing, blasphemous defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, libellous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically objectionable, disparaging, relating or encouraging money laundering or gambling, or otherwise unlawful in any manner whatever;
    • harm minors in any way;
    • infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary rights;
    • violates any law for the time being in force;
    • deceives or misleads the addressee about the origin of such messages or communicates any information which is grossly offensive or menacing in nature;
    • impersonate another person.
    • contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource;
    • threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order or causes incitement to the commission of any cognisable offence or prevents investigation of any offence or is insulting any other nation.
  • It is mandatory for the customer to have a valid local aadhar id, without which DSD facility will not be available to the customer. Outstation (Address mentioned in Aadhar card is of a different circle/state) and foreign customers will not be eligible to avail this DSD facility.
  • An offer code can be redeemed only once by the Customer.
  • It shall be the responsibility of the customer to ensure that delivery address is accurate and correct for completion of DSD facility.
  • The acceptance of DSD request by customer shall be at the entire discretion of Jio & its distributor.
  • Jio/its distributor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, without limitations, conditions and/or qualifications, and without need of prior notification, to limit, change, modify or cancel any order, and/or to refuse any service to any customer for any reason attributable to the unavailability of the items ordered, or other circumstances and conditions beyond the control of Jio/distributor , which would render impossible or delay the fulfilment of its obligations.
  • Jio and its distributor reserves the right to refuse or to accept or to cancel any DSD request from any customer beyond the delivery area or otherwise.
  • DSD request are subject to:
    • DSD request having been placed, can still be rescheduled by Customer, but not after the DSD request is allocated to a rider for completion of the DSD service and/or in the event when the customer receives an SMS with rider details.
    • Further, if customer wants to change the timing – Customer has to inform the rider, when the rider calls. Rider will then cancel this order and an SMS will be sent to customer with rescheduling link.
    • Rescheduling of the DSD service is allowed only once for a customer.
    • The distributor shall use their best efforts to meet the scheduled delivery time conveyed to the customer, however, distributor does not guarantee these delivery timelines in every case. Jio / distributor shall not have any liability to customer if the rider fails to meet such scheduled delivery time as part of DSD service.
    • It is customer’s responsibility to ensure that customer himself/herself is available at the delivery address for the DSD service completion. If customer fails to be present for completion of the DSD service including completion of the Jio SIM delivery, completion of the SIM activation process (by providing ‘Offer Code’ and complete the biometric authentication), the Rider of the distributor can then cancel this order, and in the event the same is cancelled by the rider, then an SMS will be sent to customer detailing the cancellation. Jio/distributor or the rider shall not be responsible in any manner for cancellation of the DSD facility.
  • Jio reserves the right to reject the DSD request or to cancel the same once it is accepted:
    • In case distributor is unable to contact the customer due to any reason whatsoever on the mobile of the customer as provided by the customer at the time of placing the order.
    • In case the customer abuses any employee/ representative /riders of distributor/Jio in any incident.
    • If there is a trend of order cancellations by customers.
    • If there is a trend of frequent complaints and consequent replacements of a customer.
    • If customer has provided wrong, inaccurate, incomplete or incorrect address.
    • If customer’s address is not falling in defined delivery area of the nearest rider of distributor.
    • In view of difficult operating conditions for DSD services like heavy traffic or bad weather condition or New ’Year’s eve, festivals e.g. Ganesh Puja, Christmas and Navratri, political rallies, band/strikes etc.
    • In any other event at the sole discretion of Jio and its delivery distributor.
    • Jio shall be under no liability whatsoever in the event of non-availability of any portion of the Application/weblink or its content occasioned by act of God, war, disease, revolution, riot, civil commotion, strike, lockout, flood, fire, failure of any public utility, man-made disaster, infrastructure failure or any other cause whatsoever beyond the control of Jio.
  • Jio may change the terms of, or add new terms to, these Terms and Conditions at any time, with or without cause, and without giving notice.
  • In case of any dispute with respect to DSD services, the decision of Jio/distributor shall be final and binding on all concerned. Disputes, if any, are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent court/s at Mumbai only.
  • Customer request for DSD service of Jio SIMs is entirely voluntary.
  • The Customer shall fully indemnify and hold both Jio and the distributor harmless for any costs, expenses, loss or damage howsoever arising out of its or any third party's failure to comply with the provisions of DSD services.
  • THE APPLICATION/WEBLINK AND ALL ITS FEATURES, IS/ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS-IS” AND “WITH ALL FAULTS AND RISKS” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. RJIL DOES NOT WARRANT, EXPRESSLY OR BY IMPLICATION, THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF THE APPLICATION/WEBLINK OR ANY CONTENT OR ITS SUSTAINABILITY FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAWS, RJIL DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THOSE OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT USE OF THE APPLICATION OR ANY FEATURE THEREOF WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OR THAT ANY FEATURE WILL BE AVAILABLE THROUGHOUT. WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING, RJIL DOES NOT REPRESENT OR WARRANT THAT THE APPLICATION WILL RESULT IN COMPLIANCE, FULFILLMENT OR CONFORMITY WITH THE LAWS, REGULATIONS, REQUIREMENTS OR GUIDELINES OF ANY GOVERNMENT OR GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RJIL provides no warranty on use of the Application/weblink and shall not be liable for the same under intellectual property rights, libel, privacy, publicity, obscenity or other laws. RJIL also disclaims all liability with respect to the misuse, loss, modification or unavailability of any feature of the Application/weblink.
  • YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE RISK OF USING THE APPLICATION/WEBLINK. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL RJIL BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF BUSINESS PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF INFORMATION, OR ANY OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE OR ACCESS, THE APPLICATION/WEBLINK OR FOR ANY SECURITY BREACH OR ANY VIRUS, BUG, UNAUTHORIZED INTERVENTION, DEFECT, OR TECHNICAL MALFUNCTIONING OF THE APPLICATION/WEBLINK, WHETHER OR NOT FORESEEABLE OR WHETHER OR NOT RJIL HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, OR BASED ON ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, INCLUDING BREACH OF CONTRACT OR WARRANTY, NEGLIGENCE OR OTHER TORTIOUS ACTION, OR ANY OTHER CLAIM ARISING OUT, OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH, YOUR USE OF, OR ACCESS TO, THE APPLICATION OR THE CONTENT. FURTHER, RJIL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY TEMPORARY DISABLEMENT, PERMANENT DISCONTINUANCE OR MODIFICATION OF THE APPLICATION/WEBLINK BY RJIL OR FOR ANY CONSEQUENCES RESULTING FROM SUCH ACTIONS. RJIL’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY (WHETHER UNDER CONTRACT, TORT INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, WARRANTY OR OTHERWISE) AND THAT OF ITS AFFILIATES SHALL BE LIMITED TO RUPEES HUNDRED ONLY.
  • In accordance with the applicable laws, for any grievance including if, you believe in good faith that the Content or any information viewed through the Application/weblink infringes your copyright, you may reach us at care@jio.com. All the complaints to the grievance office shall be sent in compliance with Rule 3 of the Information Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines) Rules, 2011 and such grievance shall be addressed by grievance officer with the prescribed time limit.
  • Any failure by Jio to enforce these terms for whatever reason, shall not necessarily be construed as a waiver of any right to do so at any time.
  • If any of the provisions of these terms are deemed invalid, void, or for any reason unenforceable, that part of the term will be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions of the terms and conditions.
  • Please note that JIO prime membership is mandatory with every new connection. The JIO Prime membership is priced at only Rs 99 for 1 year since the time of activation.
